Abia State top decision makers grace Wavetra Energy Powered empowerment program in Isiala Ngwa South L.G.A sponsored by comrade Ike Anyatonwu

The first phase of the Isiala Ngwa South Youth Empowerment (I-YES) Scheme being sponsored by the Transition Committee Chairman of Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area, Comrade Ike Anyatonwu has come to a close.

Speaking at the Closing Ceremony, the Transition Committee Chairman of Isiala Ngwa South LGA, Comrade Ike Anyatonwu commended the participants of the I-YES program for taking their training seriously and commended his Special Assistant on Social Investment, Comrade Ahuruonye Darlington Nnaemeka and the Company that handled the Training, Wavetra Energy Ltd, for their efforts towards the realization of the program.

Comrade Anyatonwu while stating that his administration has keyed into the street lightening project of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu also assured that the participants will be provided with startup kits to enable set up their own businesses.

The Council boss also stated that the I-YES graduands will install solar powered street lights at Umuikaa Junction, Nkwo Okpu market and Omoba main market to test run their trainings while also revealing that his administration will in no distant time, train ten (10) youths in pig farming, each from the 10 political wards of the Council.

He used the forum to address the primary school teachers serving in the Council where he encouraged them to key into the agricultural programs of his administration assuring that he will prioritize their welfare and commended them for their selfless services.

In their remarks, the Chairman of the Occasion, Chief Damian Ozumrumba, the Immediate Past Speaker of the State House of Assembly and Member Representing Isiala Ngwa South State Constituency who is a Co Sponsor of the program, Mr. Chikwendu Kalu represented by Barr. Obinna Nwaogwugwu, the General Manager, Abia CSDP Dr. Chinatu Njoku represented by Mr. N.I Ukah and the Education Secretary of Isiala Ngwa South Education Authority, Lady Odochi Odor thanked the Council Chairman for initiating the program and charged the participants to put into practice what they have been trained on while assuring of their partnership towards the sustenance of the I-YES program.

Earlier in his address, the Special Assistant to the Chairman on Social Investment, Comrade Ahuruonye Darlington Nnaemeka charged the participants to put the knowledge and skills they have acquired into good use assuring that the Council will not rest on its oars in driving a Socio-economic advocacy framework by partnering critical team players for accelerated Socio-economic growth of Isiala Ngwa South LGA.

Also speaking, the Chief Executive Officer of Wavetra Energy Ltd, Mr Peter Ojike who spoke through Mr. Nwachukwu Iheke thanked the Council Chairman and his team for embarking on the project which he described as the first of its kind. He explained that the youths have been successfully trained on Solar Electrical Installations, Solar Auditing, Electrical Safety, Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, Entrepreneurship, Solar System Design, among other areas. Responding on behalf of other participants, one of the participants, Comrade Febian Anaba thanked the Chairman and his team for the wonderful opportunity given them and encouraged all and sundry to key into solar energy as it’s a renewable energy.
Highpoint of the occasion was presentation of certificates of participation to the participants and was attended by the Wife of the Transition Committee Chairman, Lolo Victoria Anyatonwu, Traditional Rulers and Stakeholders of the Council including the Immediate Past Deputy Chief of Staff Office of the Deputy Governor, Dr. Chris Nwagboso, Chief Chibuike Godwin Onyendilefu, Sir David Chidi Ezindu, Elder Asuoha Anthony, Chief Prince Agbara, the Director General, Abia State Mass Mobilization Agency, Chief Paddy Anyatonwu, the Liaison Officer to the Governor on Isiala Ngwa South Affairs, Okey Stanford Nwagbara, PDP Chairman Isiala Ngwa Southi, Prince Christopher Chijioke Joseph, an Elderstatesman, Chief Isaac Ogbonna, Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Mrs. Pat Nnaji Adaku, Administrative Secretary of the Local Government, Dr. Kate Obilor, among other stakeholders.
